Mid neoadjuvent update

I’ve completed 5 dose dense rounds of chemo and should have 3 left. Things have been pretty uneventful except for being tired and nauseous for a good 9 days after the Adriamycin & Cyclophosphamide treatments. I lost a ton of hair by the time my 2nd round started. Now my eyebrows are pretty much all gone too.

I had my first round of Taxol almost 2 weeks ago, which I thought I had read was easier, but I had some awful symptoms pop up a couple of days after the infusion and now I’m kinda petrified to try again.

I had a fever the Saturday before the Taxol treatment which means a trip to the ER when you’re going through cancer treatment. Pre-chemo bloodwork the previous day showed neutropenia. Nothing significant found at the ER, maybe a viral infection and TSH pushing to hyperthyroid, so it was a $1,200 fee to sit in room with a glass sliding door to keep me safe from ER germs for a little over an hour. Ghostbusters was playing on the TV there, I remember feeling oddly calm although there were people moaning and retching out in the hallway of the ER.

The first nurse mentioned wanting me to use a less public toilet for a urine test due to being vulnerable from active cancer treatment etc, the next nurse that came in just helped me walk to the dirty one. OK!

Ghostbusters made me crave the feelings of childhood.

I forgot to post this originally.

I’m Jessica, the creator and author behind this blog. I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in May of 2025. I am an oddly patient impatient person. Here is a ridiculous Lisa Frank style photo of me to make things less uncomfortable!
